Always be polite and respectful.
Always tell the truth and never cheat.
Part 2: Casual Play
Section 2: Principles
In the spirit of fostering a welcoming and enjoyable gaming environment, players are encouraged to adhere to the following principles during casual play:
2.1 Greeting and Farewell
Respectful Interaction: Begin the game by respectfully greeting your opponent and conclude it with a courteous farewell.
Punctuality: Arrive on time as to not keep your opponent waiting.
2.2 Language and Communication
Language Sensitivity: Avoid using language that may be offensive to your opponent, promoting a positive gaming atmosphere.
Open Communication: Be open to answering any questions your opponent may have throughout the game.
2.3 Gameplay and Miniatures
Precise Measurements: Measure distances carefully and accurately to ensure fair and precise gameplay.
Respect for Miniatures: Ask for permission before handling any of your opponent's miniatures.

2.4 Behaviour and Atmosphere
Environmental Awareness: Be mindful of the gaming space and considerate of others who may have differing sensibilities.
Roster Review: Extend the courtesy of offering your opponent an opportunity to review your roster before the game begins.
Personal Space: Be respectful of your opponent's personal space during the game.
Concentration: Refrain from distracting your opponent, allowing them to concentrate on their decisions.
Sportsmanship: Embrace the inherent randomness of the game and refrain from complaining about luck. Remember, these are games of statistics and chance, affecting both players.
Integrity: Never engage in collusion or match-fixing, ensuring fair play and maintaining the integrity of the gaming experience.
Respect for Venue and Staff: All members are expected to treat the venue and staff with respect.
Respect for Each Other: All members are expected to treat each other with respect.
Benefit of the Doubt: Always try to offer the benefit of the doubt, although the rules are often clear-cut.
These principles are fundamental to creating an inclusive and positive gaming atmosphere within the Durban Warhammer Gaming Club. They contribute to the overall enjoyment of the hobby for all participants.
Part 3: Index
Section 3: Index of Terms
3.1 Definitions
The Spirit of the Game: The hobby is primarily a means for individuals to enjoy their time. Interpersonal actions designed to lessen this enjoyment are not within the spirit of the game. For the DWGC, these games are about sporting competition between two individuals. Any actions that are unsportsmanlike are not within the spirit of the game.
Angle Shooting: The act of using various underhanded, unfair methods to take advantage of inexperienced opponents. The difference between an "angle shooter" and a "cheater" is only a matter of degree. What a cheat or thief does is patently against the rules; what an angle shooter does may be marginally legal, but it's neither ethical nor sporting, nor is it in the spirit of the game.
Modelling for Advantage: When a model has been altered from the standard composition in a way that gives the controlling player in-game advantages.
Tabled or Tabling: When a player has had all the models in their army destroyed or otherwise removed from play and is left with nothing on the board, or in reserves, to make actions with.
