If you've ever wielded a brush to turn bare miniatures into works of art, this is your moment. The Golden Brush Challenge is a miniatures painting event that welcomes painters of all levels. From beginners to maestros, everyone is invited to unleash their creativity.
But here's the real treasure: the grand prize is a Harder & Steenbeck Evolution Airbrush! Imagine taking your painting finesse to a new dimension with this fantastic tool.

How to enter:
Send a picture of your unpainted miniature with a piece of paper next to it with the phrase Golden Brush 2023, your full name, the date of your entry, and the category you wish to enter written on it to the whatsapp group. Example below. If the judges are satisfied with your entry, you will receive confirmation on the group.

Entry fee is R100 per entry

The Rules:
- Open To Residents of KZN only.
- All entries must be submitted by 15th of September
- Unpainted: miniature can be assembled and primed. No zenithal or any further colours.
- All Entries to be completed in time for the DWGC Christmas Party on the 18th November 2023
- All entries must be present at the event to be judged.
- Do Not enter any model that has been entered into a previous miniature painting event.
- Do not enter any miniature that has been painted by anyone else.
- It is the judge’s discretion to change the category of the entry. I.e. if we feel the model should be in the small category instead of large, or beginner instead of advanced, and vice versa.
- Only entries that have been confirmed via the entry process will be allowed
- Judges may decide to remove any model from entry due to any circumstance and no refund will be given.
Categories:
- Beginner Small
- Beginner Large
- Advance Small
- Advanced Large
- Beginner - You have the basic skills, but are not sure if you quite make the mark.
- Advanced - You've done this before and can produce highly skilled techniques.
- Large - dioramas, monsters, squads and anything that takes up a base size of 60mm or bigger.
- Small - single miniatures that are on a base smaller than 60mm.
Prizes will be awarded for:
- Best Beginner small category
- Best Beginner large
- Best Advanced Small Category
- Best Advanced Large Category
- Best in Show

Q: What models may I use?
A: Anything. literally anything. there is no limit. make us proud and amaze us with your skills!
A: Showing your entries. the judges will confirm your entry on the group. once the entry date of the 15th has expired the group is available for members to chat and ask each other for advice and criticism.

Q: Can change my entry?
A: Yes, but only up till the 15th of September. all entries need to be solidified by the 15th of September and thereafter all changes will be made by the judges discretion only.
